Rigid films (including apet)
Rigid films production is one of the most quickly developing branches within the market of packaging. Rigid films, with good barrier properties, that may be used in case of thermoforming machines, are being used for modified atmosphere packing procedures. These films are used in a form of embossing tapes that are used for packing on roller machines. They have very good gas-barrier properties, they also are perfectly transparent and glossy.
These films are also available with the EVOH barrier, which practically cannot be penetrated by oxygen. Thanks to that, freshness of the packed products is maintained for a long period of time. These barriers are water-, oil-, fats- resistant. They are also quite resistant to other agents and chemicals. What is more, high temperatures and UV rays also have no effect on the material. They can be easily deeply embossed. They may be colored white or any other color the customer’s needs. Multi-layered structure make the film perfectly replicating the shape of the forming tool.
Thermoformed rigid films are used to pack the following products:
- cottage cheese,
- packaged cheese in a form of slices and pieces,
- fresh meat,
- processed meat and ham products,
- fish and frutti di mare,
- ready to eat meals, snacks, convenience products,
- fresh fruit, vegetables, salads.
Width and thickness of the films would be tailored to the individual needs of the client and the packing machinery used at the given facility. Depending on the client’s needs, rigid films may be delivered with the peel system (easy opening).
